Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients

    • Onion (2)
    • Mushrooms
    • Garlic cloves (2)
    • Cilantro (1/4 c)
  • Middle
    • Black beans (30 oz)
    • Hamburger buns
  • Dairy
    • Eggs (2)
    • Pepper jack cheese slices

    • Ketchup (2 tbsp)
    • Worcestershire sauce (2 tsp)
    • Hot sauce (1/2 tsp)
    • BBQ sauce (2 tbsp)
    • Salt (3/4 tsp)
    • Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
    • Cumin (1 tsp)
    • Chili powder (1 tsp)
    • Smoked paprika (1 tsp)
    • Breadcrumbs (1/2 c)
    • Olive oil (1 tbsp)

Prep

  1. Drain and rinse black beans.
  2. Carmelize 1 onion
  3. Prep pan fry mushrooms
  4. Aromatics
    • Finely chop 1 onion
    • Press 2 garlic cloves
  5. Bowl, mix
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 tbsp ketchup
    • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
    • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce
    • 3/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper
    • 1 tsp cumin
    • 1 tsp chili powder
    • 1 tsp smoked paprika
    • 1/2 c breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325
  2. Spread beans on sheet, bake 15m to dry
  3. For onion, garlic
    1. Pan fry until softened, 5-6m.
    2. Blot dry
    3. Add to bowl
  4. Form the into 6 patties.
  5. Oven to 400
  6. Bake for 10 minutes on each side.
  7. Add Cheese, continue bake
  8. Serve
